I hope you all had a great fall break! Its time for SALT minutes again,

Andrew opened our meeting up with another great devotion. If you are also interested in leading devotion contact Mitchel.Thayer@valpo.edu

Important dates mentioned at this meeting were...

1.) Trick or Treat for Paper Goods. (October 31st) Contact Kathleen.Parilac@valpo.edu for more information. We will be meeting at the S couch in the union at 4:30 on Sunday for those who would like to go.

2.) Invisible Children Screening (November 2nd in the Ballroom) Be sure to attend and spread the word about this event! :)

3.) Peace and Social Justice Symposium (November 13th) Each group will be making a small group presentation.

4.) WRC applications are due October 31st. For questions contact Amy.Lukas@valpo.edu

We are still in our small groups and going strong with our ideas. Shattering Shackles has already gotten their ideas running and are raising money in the union for UNICEF so be sure to stop by their table during chapel break and dinner and help them out. Our groups are also narrowing down our ideas for the VUTV videos which are due on November 9th.

-and just as a reminder we will be meeting in the Alumni Room of the Union instead of Heugli Hall next week so hopefully we see you there.... and you don't get lost.

Minutes from 10/19

First I want to start out with important dates just so that you dont forget.


1.) Trick or treat for paper goods is this Sunday, October 31st. If you are interested in getting dressed up and trick or treating for paper goods that will benefit Hilltop contact , Kathleen.Parilac at valpo.edu also Kathleen has information about an Opportunity Enterprises dance, I have never been but I hear its a lot of fun. If you are interested in helping out with that as well contact her.


2.) November 2nd @ 7:00 in the Union Ballroom there will be a screening of the Invisible Children movie. The film is called "Together We're Free" and its core approved so spread the word about that.


This week we split up into our small groups again. Each group will do a small video for the VUTV channel and it sounds like all of the groups are making a lot of progress with their ideas!


We are also getting our thoughts together for the Peace and Social Justice Symposium on Saturday November 13th in the ballroom. All the groups will be presenting what they have learned in small groups for the symposium. Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove will be the keynote speaker for that event and it should be a really good time so get excited!!
